Position Announcement: Sales Associate

Job Description

Terradex seeks a Sales Associate to support the firm’s growth in environmental technology solutions through developing marketplace interest into deals that Terradex leadership can close. The sales associate will have primary responsibility for generating leads and meeting sales goals. Key duties include building and maintaining leads in our customer relationship management (CRM) system, sales presentations, product demonstrations, and customer engagement. The sales associate will work closely with our operations and marketing teams to capture leads for development. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of the sales process, superb interpersonal skills, and an overall commitment to excellence. An understanding of environmental technology and previous experience in a sales role is a plus. This is a remote position.

Primary Responsibilities

Be a Sales Process Manager

  • Maintain our CRM (PipeDrive) system identifying and associating leads.
  • Generate and present monthly sales reports.
  • Build sales forecasts.
  • Direct a sales clerk for administrative support on PipeDrive.

Serve Client Needs

  • Interview and “intake” client use case needs for both existing and new clients, and manage web application “setup” on an ongoing basis to accommodate tailored needs.
  • Maintain close relationships with clients, identify additional client needs and use cases, and help create additional web applications (with product development team) to serve client needs.
  • Respond to ad hoc questions and requests from the Terradex user base.

Build and Convert Leads

  • Monitor the Terradex website for lead generation.
  • Work with the operations team to identify, generate, and cultivate leads.
  • Characterize and load leads into PipeDrive.
  • Communicate with prospects, identify interests, and associate Terradex solutions

Customer Engagement and Support

  • Maintain close relationships with clients, identify additional client needs and use cases, and help create additional web applications (with product development team) to serve client needs.
  • Respond to ad hoc questions and requests from the Terradex user base.
  • Routinely perform client-specific quality assurance reviews (working with the data team) to assure that land activity data monitoring is occurring correctly.
  • Routinely test and operate the web applications for ease-of-use, areas for improved features, and similar product testing.

Help Terradex Grow

  • Participate in business development meetings with prospective clients.
  • Demo Terradex applications and help create slideshow presentations.
  • Help prepare proposals.
  • Work with marketing to associate leads with targeted marketing campaigns.

Key Requirements

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for the Terradex mission, be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and show a strong desire to become part of our elite team. While we hold these attributes as being most important, specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with some relation to environmental cleanup and stewardship and/or web applications serving this industry (e.g., environmental science, engineering, policy, GIS, computer sciences, or others).
  • Sales experience
  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers
  • Sales system experience such as PipeDrive or equivalent CRM system
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with a remote team (e.g., using remote team messaging and management tools).

Salary & Benefits

  • Compensation will be determined based on experience, plus a success formula payment.
  • Open to a 1099 arrangement or full-time employment.
