Mark is Founder and President of the ecological consulting group, Great Ecology, and Managing Partner of Tellurium Partners, an investment and project development group that specializes in creating valuable ecological resources and habitat mitigation from degraded lands. Mark is a pioneer in ecological business and conservation finance, founding five companies in this space and transacting on millions of dollars of conservation and habitat restoration, and the preservation of thousands of acres of land. Great Ecology has been on the INC 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies in America for 4 years in a row. Mark’s focus within ELW is bringing the tools developed by Terradex to the land-use community.

Mike brings over 20 years of engineering and legal experience on environmental cleanup, environmental compliance, property redevelopment, and pollution control and is an expert in the niche area of sensitive property long term stewardship. Mr. Sowinski leads the professional services operations at Terradex, tailoring and managing land monitoring solutions at environmentally impaired sites. Prior to that, Mr. Sowinski practiced environmental law where he advised and litigated on behalf of local governments and private clients on cleanup, institutional controls, brownfield, water pollution, land use, and other environmental matters. Mr. Sowinski’s experience also includes a career in environmental consulting involving environmental cleanup, brownfield redevelopment, and compliance matters. Further, Mr. Sowinski has been an expert witness on ”institutional control” and long term property stewardship issues in a federal court matter. Mr. Sowinski speaks and writes regularly on environmental topics and, among other things, he recently co-authored a law review article on environmental pollution liability defenses in the Virginia Environmental Law Journal . Additionally, Mr. Sowinski leads the ASTM “Continuing Obligation” task group. Finally, Mr. Sowinski has participated as an Industry Affiliate on the ITRC Team for “Long Term Contaminant Management Using Institutional Controls” since 2013, and in 2014 Mr. Sowinski received ITRC’s Industry Affiliate Award for outstanding contributions. Mr. Sowinski received a BS and MS in Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School.

Bob is a civil engineer whose practice area is the long term care of contaminated sites. Bob is proficient in numerous computer languages, database design, and server configuration. Bob envisioned the need for and led and pioneered the development of the LandWatch system. With this background, he serves as the chief technologist behind Ecology LandWatch. Bob regularly serves on national scale committees and task groups related to the use of computer-based technologies for land use stewardship, including the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council supporting the development of ITRC’s “Long-term Contaminant Management using Institutional Controls” and the ASTM’s Task Force for Continuing Obligations at Contaminated Properties. Bob attended Stanford University where he received both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
